As part of the commemoration of the 11th anniversary of True Father’s holy ascension, the FFWPU-Benin and its affiliated organizations launched Peace Week at the Peace Embassy in Godomey. The event saw the participation of 70 attendees, including Minister Michel SOGBOSSI, Ambassador for Peace, and other Ambassadors for Peace.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address from Emmanuel Allongon, the President of FFWPU-Benin. To set the tone for the event, a video detailing the life and journey of True Father was shown, offering a glimpse into his remarkable story. Dr. Paterne Sosie Lin Zinsou, the Vice-President of UPF Africa, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing True Father’s journey and Heavenly Parent and True Parents’ aspirations for a better world.
Messages of encouragement and congratulations were shared by representatives from the Cotonou Board and the Minister, adding to the sense of celebration. Participants were deeply moved by the insights into True Father’s life and mission.
The Peace Week activities reached their climax with the Celebration Conference held on September 2, 2023, at the Peace Embassy in Godomey. The conference focused on “THE HERITAGE OF THE PATH OF PEACE AND THE LIFE OF THE Rev. SUN MYUNG MOON.” It unfolded in several segments, including:
- A second video presentation highlighting True Father’s works, following the welcome address by Rev. Emmanuel ALLOGNON, the President of FFWPU-Benin.
- An exhibition on the Life of True Parents, skillfully presented by Mr. Serge GUELI, the Head of Communication.
- A lecture on True Family Values and the Blessing of Families Festival, led by HTM Director Pascal DEGBEY.
- The appointment of 4 new Ambassadors for Peace, presided over by Mr. Honoré ANAGONOU, the Secretary General of UPF-Benin. He also elucidated the five principles of Ambassadors for Peace.
- A captivating performance by the young members of IAYSP, who added vibrancy to the evening with their choreographic presentations.
The conference concluded with a heartfelt message of encouragement from the Secretary General of UPF-Africa, underscoring the significance of carrying forward True Father’s legacy of peace and love.
This Peace Week and Celebration Conference served as a profound tribute to True Father’s enduring commitment to peace and left participants inspired and united in their dedication to realizing a better world in line with True Parents’ vision.
