On March 8, 2024, a spirit of empowerment and celebration filled the air in Abuja as 41 participants gathered to commemorate International Women’s Day. Organized by the Blessed Wives of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, the event took place at Government Secondary School, Aso Maraba, under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”
The program kicked off with insightful lectures delivered by the esteemed Samonim, Mrs. Juliet Nkanta. With topics ranging from taking responsibilities to valuing one’s possessions and embracing purity, participants were equipped with valuable insights to navigate their lives with confidence and purpose.
As the day unfolded, the focus shifted to practical empowerment through a skill acquisition session. Participants eagerly engaged in learning how to produce toilet wash/stain remover and air freshener, both in theory and practice. This hands-on approach provided them with tangible skills that can enhance their livelihoods and contribute to their communities.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in women’s empowerment to accelerate progress and foster positive change in society. By equipping women with knowledge, skills, and resources, we pave the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.
As participants departed, they carried with them not only newfound knowledge and skills but also a renewed sense of empowerment and determination to pursue their dreams. International Women’s Day in Abuja was more than just a celebration—it was a testament to the resilience, strength, and potential of women everywhere.
