On Saturday, March 16, 2024, an impactful outreach program unfolded in the heart of Abuja, spearheaded by Mrs. Margaret Kikiunda, the Secretary General of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Nigeria, alongside Record Jukwon Ojugbeli. This collaborative effort, conducted under the auspices of the Environment and Tourism Support Initiative (EATS) in partnership with FFWPU Nigeria, aimed to explore the vital connection between nature and humanity.
The program, themed “Nature and People,” delved into two key sub-themes: “Harmonizing Nature and People for Peaceful Communities” and “Understanding Climate Change and Its Impact on Livelihood.” While Rev. Imo Nkanta, the FFWPU National Leader, was unavoidably absent, Record Ojugbeli and Mrs. Margaret Kikiunda stepped up to deliver insightful presentations on behalf of the organization.
The event attracted a diverse group of 20 participants, including the esteemed Eze (traditional ruler) of the Igbo community in New Jerusalem, Dutse, and members of his cabinet, alongside other community members. Their enthusiastic engagement demonstrated a genuine interest in exploring the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural world.
Throughout the program, attendees were introduced to God’s original plan for humanity, as outlined in the Divine Principle. They gained a deeper understanding of the importance of harmonizing with nature for the betterment of their communities and livelihoods, while also addressing the pressing issue of climate change and its impact on their lives.
In addition to the enlightening discussions, participants were treated to light refreshments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fellowship among attendees. As the day came to a close, photographs were taken to commemorate the occasion, capturing the spirit of unity and collaboration that permeated the event.
In retrospect, March 16, 2024, will be remembered as a day of enlightenment and empowerment in the New Jerusalem community. Through the efforts of Mrs. Margaret Kikiunda, Record Jukwon Ojugbeli, and their collaborators, participants were inspired to embrace God’s original plan for humanity and strive towards harmonious coexistence with the natural world.
