On Saturday, March 9, 2024, a spirit of empowerment and collaboration filled the air as the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) joined forces with Avina, the Ivorian Women’s Association, to celebrate International Women’s Day in Agoè. With 50 participants in attendance, the event aimed to create an environment conducive for witnessing and promoting women’s empowerment.

Under the theme “Investing in women – accelerating the pace,” the president of WFWP delivered a powerful presentation that delved into the history of International Women’s Day and the challenges facing women today. She emphasized the importance of empowering women to take charge of their lives, advocating for income, training, and education opportunities that enable women to assume leadership roles in their families and communities.

Central to the discussion was the Maternal Heart Network for World Peace project, which offers training for women to learn about their values and roles in promoting peace within families and communities. The president urged women to seize this opportunity for personal and collective growth.

In a heartwarming display of solidarity, men present at the event also made valuable contributions to the discussion, highlighting the importance of gender equality and supporting women’s empowerment initiatives.

As the event concluded, participants came together to share a meal, fostering connections and camaraderie among attendees. The celebration of International Women’s Day with WFWP and Avina was not only a commemoration of women’s achievements but also a call to action for continued collaboration in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives.
